Some famous investor said something about investing and streets. :geek:

Currently there are forces marching on Moscow. :o

So how will the market react. I assume downward especially if it's kenitic and lasts a few days or more. Markets don't like uncertainty. Blood on the streets!

On the other hand its in Russia, which might seem a good thing, well for some anyway. Plus it's a long way away and we are more concerned about interest rates etc.

I suppose it all rests on Just Stop Oil Moscow branch now.

Will we be buying cheaper shares on Monday?

Well that script appears to have been written by the Game of Thrones Season 8 writers.

Good news possibly that innocent bystanders didn't get caught up too much.

So markets back to normal then without even a flutter.

I was half expecting a rally if it looked like Putin was under threat.

End of war, drop in food prices, return to normal energy markets.

Now, probably nowt.

We will have to see what President Prigozhin does next, after all, he's the one calling the shots.

I think the stock markets will have settled down by Monday after the weekends events, though may well continue their gradual weakening due to rising interest rates.

Though one can't help thinking that Yevgeny Prigozhin (the ex-Wagner leader), days will be numbered whilst living in Belarus, or indeed anywhere else on the planet; (and particularly so, after watching recent TV programmes about Litvinenko. I wonder if he will receive a Polonium tea pot as a going way present?

Lots of conspiracy stories on twitter if you want some fun reading.

Markets called slightly lower for the opening.

This year started off so well then turned. Gone from nothing to buy to lots of interesting possibilities. Sell in May looks like it would have worked.

Let's see in September

THis morning the markets still seem to be absorbing the interest rate rise with the threat of more to come. Thus financials and REITs are well down again but many others have perked up. I gave up worrying about day to day moves but it is a bit worrying to see that the general trend has been down for some time now but until we can get some stability in our economy i cannot see things changing much.

What instability in the economy are you seeing then?
