This... viewtopic.php?p=25773#p25792 ...seems to have some unintended side-effects.

Thought that might be it as someone else, elsewhere, had failed to, then managed to, post a link.

Oh what fun but an excellent band (the earlier stuff). I still have the Argus vinyl and the car plays me the cd every so often.

Yes. I first heard them on a John Peel 'In Concert' from Radio 1 in 1970 (somewhere I have it on reel-to-reel tape, gathering dust in the loft, I guess). What impressed me was that this concert, broadcast before their 1st album was released, included much of the material from the second album - including Vas Dis.

When I said earlier, I meant earlier than the other one. Mind you, Vas Dis does nothing for me!

We used to listen to Argus on eight track and rarely bothered to replace it with something else; unless we decided upon Al Stewart's "Past, Present and Future". Sadly I'm still more than happy to listen to "Roads to Moscow" on repeat.

1970 you say - I took you for much younger (please don't take that comment the wrong way).

Yes, like my mother always liked to say: "...but inside I'm still 21"

I'm a little too young to have let my hair down in the 60's, I'm more a child of the 70's. I remember this unknown band that did a concert at my school hall (presumably for practice before taking to the road properly) - Curved Air, they were called...

Shame Ted Turner went off on his own little "pilgrimage" after the fourth album - they were still quite good, but never really captured that magical atmospheric feel again.

Sadly, I never saw Ted - my first gig was the No Smoke Without Fire tour.

CP (where do the decades go?!)

Indeed.

Bree mentions Curved Air and I'm trying to remember somewhere in Croydon (Fairfield Halls?) and, in particular, whatever Sonja Kristina wasn't wearing and her electric violin. Now I find she was married to Stewart Copeland. Who was in Curved Air.

Then you mention seeing Wishbone which triggered a memory. Problem being, I can't recall if I saw them in the flesh or not. Must look for my ticket but, if I saw them, possibly it was at The Rainbow.
