Correct answer kempiejon, it is for stripping wire. The minimum size it will strip easily is probably about 10 sq mm. It slits the insulation as it is pulled along the wire.

Otherwise known as a Papps wedge. It is used when tuning upright pianos.

The highest notes on a piano have three strings each. The Papps wedge is inserted so that it damps two of the strings while the other string is tuned. The wedge is then moved so that it damps only one string and the second string is tuned to the first. Finally, the wedge is removed altogether and the third string is tuned to the first two.

Some notes have two strings and these are tuned using the Papps wedge in a similar way. The lowest notes have one string each.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't do too well on the tuna, so how about another attempt on this one. A support of some sort?

Perhaps to hold up a large piece of timber or a fountain. As before, mere guesses but enjoyable all the same.

Interesting, I thought of a mud scraper earlier but rejected it. Whereas you didn't reply it was nothing to do with boots.

I can't tell the dimensions but is it a boot stand or something equine related?
