The Board of the Company has declared that a fourth quarterly interim dividend of 10.5 pence per share for the year ended 31st December 2023 will be paid on 1st March 2024 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 26th January 2024. The ex-dividend date will be 25th January 2024. This payment will bring the total dividend for the year ended 31st December 2023 to 34.5 pence (2022: 33.0 pence), an increase of 4.5% over the previous year.
This declaration represents the growth of the Company's dividend for the 51st successive year. The Board's dividend policy remains to seek to increase the dividend each year and, taking a run of years together, to increase dividends at a rate close to or above the rate of inflation.
