90% of the spam/junk mail i receive is from 'xxx@rdl,,,'

I have googled 'rdl' and all I get romonian weight lifting!!

well I am far from any involvement with that,
is there any way to block that sender
each email has a slightly different ending to sender so blocking one by one is no use

any suggestions please

Ignore it.

Trash it. Easy as it's all from the same address as you pointed out.

And try not to spam this site with messages about spam.

I block the sender and if they persist I block the domain.
I think the main thing is not to open the email. Eventually they give up.

They change the sent from addresses and use different subdomains (e.g nonsenseaddress(@)marketing.wellknowncompany.com) or spoof from well known domains. So the former doesn't work and the latter (blocking entire domains) can potentially get legitimate email blocked or routed direct to the trash bin. (Been there...)

And they don't give up either, even today with all the hurdles put in the way of spammers via increased DMARC authentication requirements there are still billions every day being sent out...https://www.mailmodo.com/guides/email-spam-statistics/

Ahh, but they don't send them to me ;)
The only regular items in my spam folder are from two legitimate websites from which there seems no way to unsubscribe.
