I've paid for my UK TV licence by direct debit since 2007.
Today, I got a "Spending Insight" notification from Santander saying my TV licence direct debit was higher than usual in June and I should check whether I am on the best deal.
Leaving the stupidity of that aside, I checked and the DD for June was £15.00.
The DDs in April and May were £13.25.
The TV Licensing website suggests the DD should be around £14.25.
Given the licence fee is dictated by legislation, why can't they simply take 12 x the same DD (assuming the figure was divisible by 12 - common sense would suggest you would simply set it at that sort of figure).
But anyway, did this random change in DD impact anyone else?

Yes, and here's why:
Firstly, it looks like your licence runs to the 31st May each year, like mine.
My licence statement shows that I paid £13.25 each month from December 2023 to May 2024, and am to pay £15 each month from June to November 2024, making a total of £169.50 for the year - the current cost of a licence.
Hope that helps

Re: TV Licence Direct Debit
That would make sense - I bought the property in May 2007 so it would align with that.
Thanks
