4th test changes?

Bairstow has to be a doubt. Missed a lot of chances and looked off peak with the bat. His stats show his batting improves when he doesn't keep. Can he be kept as a bat with Foakes as keeper?

Anderson will be back to replace the injured Robinson, although his effectiveness, in my mind, is waning.

Anything else? Ali?

It is Old Trafford so Anderson plays.

Broad stays to get Warner out twice. A decent bat at number 10.

How many times have Stokes, Woakes and Foakes played in the same team? :D

Not sure the batting line-up can be any better

Yes Broad has bowled brilliantly so no doubts about him. Worried about Root. Obviously his place isn't in doubt. At Headingly he wasn't himself with the bat nor in the field. Just a blip hopefully. Also batting performances should be judged keeping in mind the fact that the Aussie bowling attacked is exceptional.

Another thing to consider is that Stokes is unlikely to bowl. Makes the inclusion of Foakes more likely to be at the expence of Bairstow.
A shame a fully fit Archer is unavailable.

Whilst hoping I am wrong, I doubt he will ever play red ball cricket for England again. He's broken.

Wood must be due to break down soon too.

Anderson in, Robinson out.

Short snd simple. Big game for Anderson, it could easily be his final test if it goes badly. Nice way to finish if it is, on home turf.

Though IF England win to take it to 2-2... and the long range forecast for the Oval is overcast and humid....

Well Foakes, here's my eleven:

Clearly, we must have a captain who Stokes passion in the side, who will Brook no shirkers, and is supported by a team with Broad enough shoulders to take on the task. A wily old campaigner is essential to Jimmy open the Aussies' top order, and some out and out pace Wood be very handy. For later in the game, an experienced off-spinner would be right up my Ali. If the short-pitched bowling tactic persists then we'll definitely need someone who can Duckett.

Throw in Crawley and Woakes (despite their unpunny names) and you have my Root to success... :)
