Applying for CCJ using work address.

Postby Peanutte » June 14th, 2023, 1:33 pm

Can anyone tell me if I can apply for a CCJ using the debtor's work address ?

I know who she works for (Council) but am not sure which building. Could I use the main office address?

I have tried to trace her home address, but I don't think that is up-to-date.

The debt is £4,365.

Thanks.

I presume the defendant is a private individual. It says here under 6.15 that the defendant can be served at an address other than their home address, but the Court has to authorise it.

The short answer is no.

If you aren't sure of her address you can serve at her `Usual or last known residence'. However, this doesn't apply if you know for a fact that she no longer lives there.

What's the nature of your claim?
